Below is a "recommended" tool list that should be obtained for those
interested in pursuing the Union Millwright trade. This
list is a recommendation only. As you gain more experience and
work with veteran journeyman you will come up with your own system
of "must haves". This is a good start though.When buying
your tools, remember, you get what you pay for. Buy quality
tools only. The most common brands you will see in the
field are Craftsman® hand tools and Starrett® precision tools.
Most likely because of the middle-of-the-road pricing and ease of
availability.
Obviously there are many more brands, but that 2-buck Taiwanese
beater will break in no time and probably end up hurting you and/or your
partner. Then you just have to go out and buy another one.
Remember, quality is remembered long after the price is forgotten.
