Bolt Pattern Torque Sequence

Below are some pre-numbered flange/coupling bolt patterns for torque purposes.  If you don't want to print these off for you toolbox, there is a pretty easy little method to use when you're on the job and need to number a flange/coupling for tightening.  The numbering system is slightly different than the images below but will evenly torque your flanges/couplings either way for most standards.

Simply take the total number of bolt holes and make 4 columns and start numbering.  Say you have a 24-bolt flange or coupling, use the following to achieve equal torque.

**Always make 4 columns wide

Starting with the Number 1 hole, label the flange/coupling accordingly beginning with the number 1 and continuing with your odd numbers first, as shown.  Then proceed with the even numbers.
